Cisco IOS on UNIX (IOU) is a fully working version of IOS that runs as a user mode UNIX (Solaris) process.

IOU is built as a native Solaris image and run just like any other program. IOU supports all platform independent protocols and features.

With regard to functionality, it is very similar to GNS3 but it does not require nearly the resources that several virtual routers running under dynamips does.

IOU allows you to build out a network topology on a single PC without the need for physical routers. This is useful for validating network designs, proof-of-concept testing, and certification self-study.

Also included is a video on setting up and using IOU. It does move a little fast and if you have trouble getting the network to work go to Youtube and search for routergods iou. The tutorials there are very helpful.

My upload is only 768Kbs so please be patient until it is well seeded.

This is a vmware image that I run on workstation 8. It should work on previous versions as well as server. I have also tested it on VSphere and it works fine.
